Every single notebook or desktop or server is run by an Operating System - the low-level software that interacts with the hardware, including peripheral devices such as a mouse and a printer, along with any applications that are currently installed on the system. Any program input using a command line or a Graphical User Interface (GUI) is processed by sending an Application Program Interface (API) request to the OS. On a web server, every single application runs within the parameters specified by the OS as well - priority, physical memory, processing time, etcetera. This is valid for both standard website scripts and server-side software such as a media server. In case a virtual server is set up on a physical one, there can be two different Operating Systems, called guest OS and host OS, which means that you'll be able to set up a different software environment on the very same machine.

Multiple OS in VPS Servers

We offer as many as three different Linux releases for the Operating System of our VPS servers - Debian, CentOS and Ubuntu. These are some of the safest and the most reliable OSs you can get and we provide all 3 rather than only one since we realize that you may want to set up some software that has specific requirements with regards to the Operating System it'll run on. The latter is because each of the three Operating Systems has a large support community behind it and there're different software packages you can install on the hosting server. Your OS choice will also determine what hosting Control Panel can be set up on the VPS if you want to use one and that's why we offer multiple Control Panels too. In case you decide that you need another OS, our tech support team can quickly wipe the existing one and install the one that you want. In addition, we offer an optional service to maintain the OS on your VPS updated weekly.

Multiple OS in Dedicated Servers

The dedicated servers we offer come with three different Operating Systems because we want to give you more versatile solutions that will allow you to install and run any type of web software whatever its system requirements. The choices are CentOS, Debian and Ubuntu and these three OSs are among the most stable and secure ones, not mentioning that they do not have any license charges. All three have a large number of developers who have created a huge number of software packages that you could install and use on your server. We also offer three web hosting Control Panels and which one you can use will depend on the Operating System that you select when you sign up. If you need a different OS later, it won't be a problem as we can always reinstall your server. With our Managed Services package we could also keep your OS secure by updating it on a weekly basis with all patches which are released for it.
